Effective Query Strategies

Be Specific

Instead of: "What happened?" Try: "What did Officer Johnson observe when he arrived at the scene?"

Use Context

Include relevant details:

  • Names of people involved
  • Dates or time frames
  • Specific events or locations

Ask Multi-Part Questions

Break complex questions into parts:

  1. "Who was present at the arrest?"
  2. "What did each person say during the arrest?"
  3. "Were Miranda warnings given before questioning?"

Finding Specific Information

Timeline Questions

  • "Create a timeline of events on the night of the incident"
  • "What time did the 911 call come in?"

Contradiction Hunting

  • "Compare witness A's statement to witness B's statement"
  • "Does the police report contradict the body cam footage description?"

Evidence Review

  • "List all physical evidence collected"
  • "What was the chain of custody for the weapon?"

Refining Results

If you don't find what you need:

  1. Rephrase your question
  2. Try different keywords
  3. Ask about a broader category, then narrow down
